Minmin Gyoza

Utsunomiya in Tochigi prefecture, just north of Tokyo, is famous for #gyoza #potstickers šŸ„Ÿ . It is an easy day trip from Tokyo. We were visiting #Tohoku in the north of Japan for spring break and included a long stay in Utsunomiya so that we could have gyoza for dinner.

Minmin is a popular shop with a few branches near the station. It is in the station where both local trains and the #shinkansen stops. The station is big and we went to the Minmin in the Paseo building.

There are two shops, next door to each other. Minmin Mets serves three types of gyoza: regular, deep-fried, and boiled. The Minmin Station Building shop serves only regular and boiled.

The shinkansen live timetable.

The boiled potstickers are chewy, the fried are crispy, and the regular are perfection. Next time I return I won’t bother with getting rice. I think the meal would be perfect with just the gyoza and an ice cold beer.
