The morning sets at Ueshima Kissaten. The coffee shops are quiet spots to enjoy coffee or get some work done. I love the small fresh salad, thick toast and egg dishes. The Toranomon shop plays jazz in the background. Japanese kissaten coffee shops often have morning sets of coffee and toast and a boiled egg, or a similar set. The morning sets at some kissaten are only one coin, about 500 yen.
Ueshima’s first shop is in Kanda and recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. The coffee shops are conveniently located near busy stations or office buildings. These two spots are in Toranomon and Akasaka.
