Three curry plate at @une_labo. Une is the name of the small mound of dirt at farms where seeds are grown. The turmeric rice on the dish symbolizes the une at farms. The vegetables on top are all local vegetables fried, pickled, sauteed, and simmered.

Charming cafe near Kokubunji Station for curry using #Kokuvege, local Kokubunji vegetables. The concept of the shop is to use b-grade vegetables that are hard for the farmers to sell. It’s a brilliant and delicious sustainable idea. For example, the cucumbers were too big to sell, so the kitchen peeled the hard skin and simmered these until tender.
Stop by if you find yourself in Kokubunji our out on the JR Chūō line. Note that the cafe is only open Fridays – Sundays.
