Kamakura Pasta

Wafu Italian, Italian cuisine made with Japanese ingredients, is trending in the US and has long been popular in Japan. We often make spaghetti at home using Japanese seafood or vegetables. It’s the perfect fusion cuisine.

While we are on the road and eating mostly Japanese food we often will take a break from rice and look for a Wafu Italian pasta restaurant. Every major city will have one. In Kanazawa we went to Kamakura Pasta which also has branches in Tokyo. The uni pasta with ikura is a luxurious bowl. Kamakura Pasta has moved towards the trend of casual restaurants where diners place their orders on an iPad that is at each table. The menu is available in English.

Wafu Italian is sometimes called Itameshi but that is an old term that we no longer use in Japan.

Kamakura Pasta is on the 6th floor of the Forus mall next to Kanazawa Station.
