We had the most fabulous stay at #NasuShiobara @rengetsu_natsu in #Tochigi. My kid has been wanting to stay here for a long time so we booked it way in advance.

There is a private onsen bath on our veranda. The property also has a large hot springs area that also includes three private hot springs.

I loved all of the options. Wooden round, square stone, medicinal herbs, silky, and my favorite open-air rotenburo.

We spent most of our time either eating or soaking and some down time in the room. Once you get to your room we change into hotel ware, a comfy pajama-like top and bottom that we lived in – except when soaking. There is a cotton yukata option for women, perfect for the young girls wanting to pose for social media? But not as comfy as the basics.

To get there there is a shuttle bus provided from the #shinkansen station Nasu Shiobara. From there it was about a 45-minute ride into the forested hills. Our stay was a bargain 20,000 yen ($140) per person – which includes dinner and breakfast. When we looked up the price the day we were checking in Google told us it was about 60,000 yen ($400) per person.
