
My favorite pizzeria in Tokyo is Pizza Marumo in Ebisu. A delight to go with fellow foodies so we could enjoy so many pizzas. The umami pizza is with shaved #kombu #kelp, #anchovies, and mushrooms.

Chef Motokura’s crust has lots of water so it’s light and chewy – like mochi.

I adore the wood-oven roasted vegetables with a yogurt sauce. Always nice to see chef and do a quick catch up. Reservations can be made on the Marumo website in English! Reservations required. It’s popular.
We lived in Hiroo for about ten years, until ten years ago, and had three or four pizza places in or near Ebisu we thought were great. One was surely this one. Natsukashii.
