Kissa Streamer

Kissa Streamer is on a quiet back street of Nihonbashi. The kissaten coffee shop dates back 50 years. It has been brought back to life by the famous Streamer coffee company. I love the vibe here. The interior is a traditional kissaten. Low-backed wooden chairs, tables closer to the floor, and warm lighting. But the music playing, instead of classical or jazz, is modern which brings a cool modern feel to the retro setting.

Streamer is famous for its coffee beans – which is also used at my favorite Tsukiji Turret Coffee! The morning set with toast and a hard boiled egg is only 200 yen. Coffee on weekday mornings is 400 yen and comes with a refill if ordered before 9:00 a.m., which is rare in Japan. Bargain 600 yen ($4). Check out the hand drawn pictures of the food. I love Japan!
