A gorgeous start to the day at #Nihonbashi #Coffee #Lotus. A luxurious bowl of fruit with almost a dozen different types of fruit including persimmons, nashi Asian pears, muskmelon, and papaya. I love the variety of fruits uncle squeezes into the fruit bowl. The Lotus Special comes with toast, juice, a boiled egg, and yogurt. The nel drip coffee is smooth.

The quiet shop opened in 1966. Sometimes I am the only one early in the morning. Uncle is very sweet and always with a big smile. The cafe is filled with dried and fresh flowers. Some mornings jazz is playing, other days it is quiet.

The shop is just near Nihonbashi #Takashimaya department store. I used to walk by each morning on my way from the locker room to Takashimaya when I worked there as a sommelier. But, I was not into kissaten coffee shops back then. My colleagues used to come here for an after lunch coffee. Now I realize what I was missing out on.
